Single Filament Effusion Cell

This type of effusion cell is designed for the evaporation of materials such as germanium,tin, gold,silicon,copper etc. A tantalum wire is used for the heating system and PBN rings for the electrical isolation. The heating system is surrounded by several Tantalum foils to minimize heat radiation. A direct heat transfer from the filament to the crucible reduces the power consumption and gives an excellent control of the flux. PBN crucibles are standard with this type of effusion cells. Other crucible materials are possible.
